When you think of Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS), salary-cap roster building normally comes to mind.

However, while that was the case many moons ago, DFS has changed through the years. Now with operators like PrizePicks, DFS is a whole new game.

PrizePicks provides its users with a much more simplified DFS format.

While you play against the house at PrizePicks, the unique platform also has a sports-betting twist featuring over/under player-prop contests.

When you play at PrizePicks, users choose several player props while making over/under predictions on individual stats and fantasy points totals.

You can even win up to 15X your entry fee at Prize Picks.

In this guide, PrizePicks prop contests will be detailed so you have a better understanding of how the platform works before you bet on it.

What Is PrizePicks Daily Fantasy?

Although PrizePicks is categorized as a DFS platform, it has more of a sports-betting-like feel to it.

For this reason, PrizePicks is an outstanding alternative for those playing in states without legalized online sports betting.

And while normal DFS platforms offer salary caps and roster building, that is not the case at PrizePicks.

Instead, PrizePicks users must make over/under predictions based on player props and fantasy points. What’s more, at the DraftKings and FanDuels of the world, DFS users are playing against each other.

At PrizePicks, users are matched up against the house and the house’s projections.

When you enter a contest at PrizePicks, you will normally choose from 2-5 player prop options while forecasting whether or not their statistical totals or fantasy points totals will be higher or lower than PrizePicks’ projected totals.

You don’t need to do a day’s worth of research to be successful at PrizePicks.

Do a few minutes of research on the player props of your choosing, make your picks then sit back and watch the money roll in.

It is just that easy to win at PrizePicks.

Sports That You Can Bet On At PrizePicks

PrizePicks offers more sports and markets than most DFS platforms.

Now offering over 30 different leagues and sports to bet on, you can tell why PrizePicks feels more like an online sports betting site than a DFS platform.

PrizePicks even has futures for the most popular markets like the NFL, MLB, and NBA. Not many DFS platforms offer futures if any at all.

  • NFL Football
  • MLB Baseball
  • NBA Basketball
  • NHL Hockey
  • Golf
  • Soccer
  • WNBA
  • MMA
  • UFC
  • NASCAR
  • Tennis
  • College Baseball

How Do Contests at PrizePicks Work?

Contests at PrizePicks are simple.

All you have to do is make over/under predictions on player props and fantasy totals. If you are right, you will win.

To enter a contest, you must pick anywhere between 2-5 players. Then, you pick the player prop or fantasy points total you want to bet on for each one.

With props, you can choose the “single stat” option.

When you do this, then you must pick the statistical category you want to bet on like touchdowns or passing yards for NFL markets.

After you pick the statistical prop market you want to bet on, simply choose the player to go over or under the PrizePicks projected totals.

Here are examples of the player props you will find at PrizePicks:

  • Clayton Kershaw over/under 4.0 strikeouts (MLB)
  • Ezekiel Elliott over/under 25.5 receiving yards (NFL)
  • LeBron James over/under 42.5 fantasy points (NBA)
  • Jai Herbert over/under 37.5 significant strikes (MMA)

PrizePicks Contest Types?

At PrizePicks, users can choose between two different contest types to enter.

These are called Flex and Power Play.

Flex Contests

Flex contests have a round-robin feel in sports betting.

With Flex contests, users can get a payout if they get a pick wrong in exchange for a lower payout if they get all of their picks right. Prizes are paid out in a multiplier fashion.

Payout Structure For Flex Contests

  • 5-player prop picks: This option will pay out 0.4X your entry fee for three correct picks, 2X for four correct picks, and up to 15X for five correct picks.
  • 4-player prop picks: This option will pay out 1.5X your entry fee for three correct picks and 5x for four correct picks
  • 3-player prop picks: This option will pay out 1.25X your entry fee for two correct picks and 2.25X for three correct picks
  • 2-player prop picks: This option will pay out 0.5X your entry fee for one correct pick and 2X for two correct picks

For example, a $10 entry to a four-player prop contest would payout $50 if you get all four picks right. Meanwhile, that same $10 entry would pay out $15 if you get 3-of-4 player picks right.

Power Play Contests

Power Play contests are the big dogs at PrizePicks. Here, there are no payouts when you get picks wrong.

To win these contests, you must get all of your picks correct. This is like a parlay in sports betting. Again, prizes for Power Play contests are paid out in a multiplier fashion.

Payout Structure For Power Play Contests

  • 4-player picks: This contest will payout 10X-15X your entry fee if you get all of your picks correct
  • 3-player pricks: This contest will pay out 5X your entry fee if you get all of your picks correct
  • 2-player picks: This contest will pay out 3X your entry fee if you get all of your picks correct

For example, a $10 entry to a 2-player prop contest would pay out $30 if you get both picks right.

Meanwhile, a $10 entry to a 4-player prop contest would pay out $100 if you get all four picks correct.

How Much Are The Entry Fees?

At PrizePicks, contest entry fee amounts will vary.

While the minimum entry fee is as low as $5, some contests with entry fees max out at $400.

But you can use our exclusive bonus, a $100 deposit match, to lower your spending.
