If you are new to sports betting, you’ll quickly find that you have options in terms of bet types and markets.

While moneyline bets, point spread bets, and over/under bets are the most common ways to wager, not too far behind is the proposition bet.

The proposition bet, otherwise known as the prop bet, gives the sports better endless variety which focuses on niche markets.

Some mobile sportsbooks even forward you the opportunity to create your own props, which adds even more diversity and variety to the popular bet type.

Due to the evolving growth and popularity of prop betting and sports betting in general, Sports Interaction has emerged as one of the top operators to place these wagers with.

In this article, I will review prop betting overall at Sports interaction including how to place a prop bet and the types of prop bets you can make there.

How To Place A Prop Bet At Sports Interaction

Placing a prop bet at Sports Interaction is easy. Just like at any other online sportsbook.

While not all sports betting sites are created equal, the steps of placing a prop bet are fairly uniform.

Below, I will go over the generalized steps you need to follow to place a prop wager at Sports Interaction.

These steps can also be used with most of the top sportsbooks as well.

  • Sign up and log in to Sports Interaction.
  • Find the drop-down menu normally located on the top left of your screen.
  • Find and choose the sport, league, and game you want to wager a prop bet within.
  • Click on the prop you want to wager and it will appear in your bet slip.
  • At Sports Interaction, your bet slip is called your bet card.
  • Choose the amount that you want to stake.
  • Review your bet card to make sure everything is how you want it.
  • Click on the “Submit Bet” button and you’re good to go.

Prop Builder

A prop builder is one of the best sports betting tools known to man.

It is so good and unique that not all sports betting sites offer the tool. In fact, you’ll be lucky if you find one.

A prop building tool is outstanding because it gives the user the ability to create their own props catered to their liking. It gives you a slight edge over the book.

And the books don’t like when we have any type of an edge, which is why we can’t find a prop builder at most operators.

Unfortunately, Sports Interaction does not feature a prop builder at the time of this writing. If you want to try out a prop builder, MyBookie.com has one.

What Is A Prop Bet?

Short for proposition bet, a prop bet is a type of sports wager that focuses on individual stats or occurrences within a game rather than the overall outcome.

Thus, the winner or final score of the game does not matter with prop bets.

For example, a prop bet could be the number of rebounds a player will snag in a basketball game. You can also bet on whether or not a game will go into overtime and anything in between.

There are even prop bets that have nothing to do with the actual game.

These are called novelty bets, which are focused on occurrences outside a game or event. I will get into novelty bets later on in this article.

As you can see, prop bets are limitless and can be extremely lucrative. Be sure to take advantage of them when placing your next wager.

Player Props

One of the most popular forms of prop bets is called player props.

Player props are focused on an individual player’s performance within a statistical category or categories.

For example, you can bet on a player’s points + rebounds + assists in basketball.

In order to cash your prop betting ticket, the player you chose must accomplish the statistical feat you wagered on him to meet.

Below I will list a few examples of player props:

  • Joe Burrow to throw for Over 251.5 yards
  • Bryce Harper to record Under 1.5 strikeouts
  • Sidney Crosby to score a goal

For the first bet example to cash, Burrow must throw for at least 252 yards.

In the second example, Harper can only strike out once in a game to win your bet. If he strikes out twice, you lose.

With the final example, Crosby must score a goal in his upcoming matchup for you to cash your prop bet ticket.

As you can see, these wagers have nothing to do with the outcome of their respective games. As long as the players do their jobs, you will win your bets.

Team Props

A team prop is a type of prop bet that is centered around an individual team’s statistical performance within a game.

Similar to player props, team props also have nothing to do with the outcome of their individual matchups.

Here is a few examples of team props that you can place wagers on at Sports interaction:

  • Orlando Magic to score Under 99.5 points against the Chicago Bulls
  • The Chicago Bears to record Over 2.5 sacks against the Detroit Lions
  • The New Jersey Devils will score Under 3.5 goals against the Pittsburgh Penguins

In the first example, the magic must score fewer than 99 points for you to cash your ticket.,

With the second bet example, the Bears must sack the Lions’ quarterback three times for your bet to win.

And in the third, the Devils must score fewer than three goals for your bet ticket to cash.

Game Props

A game prop is a type of prop bet that is focused on in-game stats and occurrences within an individual matchup.

Game props can include anything from when a team will call the first time out and whether or not a game will go into overtime.

Below, I will list a few examples of game props that you will find at Sports Interaction:

  • The Green Bay Packers will defeat the Minnesota Vikings by 7-13 points. This is called a margin of victory prop bet
  • The exact score of the Chicago Blackhawks versus Minnesota Wild game will be 4-3
  • The Los Angeles Lakers will win the race to 15 points against the Golden State Warriors

Novelty Props

A novelty prop is also referred to as an exotic prop at some sportsbooks.

These types of props are geared toward extremely niche occurrences around a game rather than within it.

Novelty props are rare, however. They are normally linked to big events like the Super Bowl, March Madness, or an upcoming election.

Below, I will list a few examples of novelty props that you will find at Sports Interaction:

  • The color of the Gatorade shower at the Super Bowl
  • The length of the halftime show at the Super Bowl
  • The broadcast team will mention Tom Brady’s retirement Over 4.5 times during the Super Bowl telecast

Prop Betting Strategy

Like anything else in life, you will be more successful if you have a plan, which is why it is imperative that you have a strategy when placing a sports bet. This is especially true with prop bets.

Do Your Homework

You can find sports stats and analytics just about anywhere and right at your fingertips. So why wouldn’t you use them to your advantage when placing prop bets, or any wager for that matter? In fact, you’d be crazy not to.

If you want to make a player prop bet, it takes just a few minutes to research the player and the statistical category you want to bet on to see how he’s been performing. You can identify betting trends this way.

You can even find stats on how that player has historically performed against the team he’s playing in his upcoming matchup.

Doing your homework and putting the time in is one of the best ways to get an edge over the sportsbook to make yourself a more-profitable sports bettor in the long run.

Line Shopping

It is imperative to line shop.

Would you place a wager at DraftKings when you can get better lines and odds at Sports interaction or at FanDuel? Of Course not. You’d be leaving money on the table that way.

If you want to be a serious and more profitable sports better, you should have multiple sports betting accounts with funds in them so you can be quick to jump on lines and odds since they move so rapidly.

If you see a LeBron James go Over 25.5 points with (-110) odds bet at DraftKings but Sports Interaction has the same option at (+100), then why in the world wouldn’t you want to place the bet at the operator with plus odds?

BestOdds.com has a terrific line comparison tool to help you get the best bets as well. Here is a link to the tool.

Know The Rules

All sportsbooks grade their bets differently. Therefore, you want to be sure that you know the rules before placing your wager.

After all, you don’t want to think you’ve won a bet then check your ticket and it was graded as a loss.

Perhaps if you knew the rules, you would have faded the bet overall or chosen a different operator to place the bet with.

For example, if you are betting on the color of the Gatorade shower at the Super Bowl, BetMGM will void the bet if there is no Gatorade poured at the end of the game.

However, other sportsbooks will grade the bet as a loss.

Another example is first-basket bets in basketball. Some sportsbooks will grade your bet a win if the first basket is a free throw whereas other books will grade it as a loss and award the first basket scorer win to the player who scored the first field goal.

These are just two examples of why you should know the rules inside and out.

Propositions are a perfect bet to include in your next parlay at Sports Interaction.
