The defending-NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles take on the Super Bowl 56 Champion Los Angeles Rams in Week 5.

Although the Rams endured a forgettable season last year, it appears that things are heading in a positive direction this season.

35-year-old quarterback Matthew Stafford looks rejuvenated after an injury-plagued 2022.

Los Angeles’ wide receiver Cooper Kupp has been designated for return from injured reserve, but it looks like we’ll get to see more of rookie sensation Puka Nacua this week.

Kupp may need some ramp-up time before he hits the field.

After seeing how well Nacua has filled Kupp’s shoes, is it fair to say that Kupp is a system receiver?

Either way, the results are there, for both Kupp and Nacua.

For this Eagles-Rams matchup, let’s build a potentially profitable Same Game Parlay.

I’ll be placing this ticket on FanDuel.

Matthew Stafford – OVER 269.5 Passing Yards

While a matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles sounds intimidating, the Eagles’ passing defense is not.

Matt Stafford has been around the block a time or two, and the veteran should have little issue peppering this 27th-ranked Philadelphia passing defense.

The Eagles just allowed Sam Howell of the Washington Commanders to record 290 passing yards against them last week.

I’d expect a similar number for Stafford in Week 5.

The strength of Philly’s defense is their defensive front, and with Rams’ running back Kyren Williams working through a hip injury, I’d expect coach Sean McVay to have his quarterback sling it often in this one.

Entering the season, not a single safety for the Eagles’ defense graded in the Top-32 safeties in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus.

A lot of shots are coming over the middle of the field for Stafford this week.

D’Andre Swift – OVER 65.5 Rushing Yards

The Rams have allowed at least one running back to post at least 60 rushing yards in every contest this season.

  • Week 1: Kenneth Walker (SEA) – 64 Rushing Yards
  • Week: Christian McCaffrey (SF) – 116 Rushing Yards
  • Week 3: Joe Mixon (CIN) – 65 Rushing Yards
  • Week 4: Zack Moss (IND) – 70 Rushing Yards

I believe that trend will continue this Sunday.

After Swift’s Week 1 dud, just one carry for three yards, he has become a leading man in this explosive offense.

Swift recorded back-to-back 130+ rushing yard performances in Weeks 2 and 3, and he should see plenty of work again this week.

The Eagles’ offense currently has an average time of possession of 33:54 minutes per game.

Killing the clock and keeping the opposing offense off the field is a key component of the Eagles’ success, and Swift is a large part of that execution.

Jalen Hurts – OVER 39.5 Rushing Yards

LA’s rushing defense is not spectacular, and in last week’s contest the Rams allowed rookie QB Anthony Richardson to tally 56 rushing yards and a touchdown.

I’d expect Jalen Hurts to outproduce Richardson’s rushing yards against LA in Week 5.

Hurt’s rushing yards totals have been surprisingly low this season. I believe the addition of Swift has played an impact, but Hurts’ talented legs need to be used before they atrophy.

Hurts is averaging just 33.5 rushing yards per game this season, but averaged 50.7 rushing yards in 2022.

17.2 yards less rushing yards on average is a big difference, but the four game sample this season seems like too small a sample to say that Hurts will be running less moving forward.

Tyler Higbee – Any Time Touchdown Scorer

Remember what I said about the Eagles not having great safeties?

I think that bodes well for Tyler Higbee this week.

Philadelphia allowed New England Patriots’ tight end Hunter Henry to score in Week 1, and then allowed Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson to record two touchdowns the following week.

Through four games, Higbee has received 26 targets from Matthew Stafford; Higbee even received a whopping 11 targets in Week 4.

Eagles’ safeties Justin Evans and Reed Blankenship are going to get a headache trying to keep Higbee out of the endzone.

I don’t see Higbee scoring three touchdowns against Philly again, but we just need one, and +290 is a solid value here.

Betting NFL Same Game Parlays

Same game parlay is just like a regular NFL parlay bet, except all bet selections come from different wagers within one football game.

The benefit of an NFL same game parlay is achieved by combining multiple bets so you can go for bigger wins as the odds increase.

The more bet selections you add, the more difficult it is to win, but the odds also greatly increase so is the potential winning amount.
