The Minnesota Vikings host the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3, inside the friendly, domed confines of U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

There should be plenty of fireworks inside the indoor stadium.

Literal fireworks inside a domed stadium is a matter of discussion between the Vikings top brass and the city of Minneapolis, but the figurative on-field fireworks between these two squads is perfectly debatable amongst us bettors.

Some books have this game as a pick’em, others at -1 to -1.5 on the spread favoring the Vikings.

In this closely set matchup between two winless clubs, Minnesota has received 68% of the money and 54% of the bets.

I believe I’m going to fade the public this week and side with LA to bounce back first.

But, let’s sift through some wagering options and concoct a solid Same Game Parlay.

For this Week 3 Same Game Parlay, I’m going to FanDuel.

NFL Week 3 Same Game Parlay

Kirk Cousins – ALT Passing Yards: 300+ Yards (+104 FanDuel)

Cousins is averaging a colossal 354 passing yards per game after Week 2.

The 35-year-old veteran QB should see plenty of attempts once again in Week 3, facing a Los Angeles defense that has surrendered an average of 356 passing yards per game over their first two contests.

The Vikings’ rushing attack is murky, and the recent addition of former Rams’ running back Cam Akers seems to muddy this backfield even more.

With a defense that continues to relinquish points, I’d expect this potential game script to force Cousins to attempt more than 40 passes.

All signs are pointing towards Cousins needing an ice pack for his shoulder after this one.

Justin Herbert – ALT Passing Yards: 300+ Yards (+130 FanDuel)

These teams have a similar makeup, so I feel pretty much the same about Herbert as I do about Cousins.

Questionable running games and porous defenses on both sidelines should make this game a football chucking extravaganza.

Should running back Austin Ekeler return to this LA backfield, Herbert will receive another safety valve for check-down passes; Ekeler being a great yards-after-catch receiver could give Herbert’s numbers a boost.

The Chargers’ defense is allowing 31 points per game, and should give up plenty to Cousins and the Vikes.

The game script calls for flinging the football.

Herbert and Cousins are going to be duking it out on Sunday.

If the QBs are having big days, I’d expect their receivers to benefit.

Keenan Allen – ALT Receiving Yards: 100+ Yards (+198 FanDuel)

Keenan Allen is the most targeted receiver thus far in the Chargers’ offense, seeing 19 targets to Mike Williams 18.

In a game that could see plenty of pass attempts, Allen should have a boatload of targets.

Allen eclipsed 100 receiving yards in Week 2 against Tennessee, and should push for that number once again.

The Vikings have faced the Buccaneers and Eagles in the first two weeks, with Baker Mayfield and Jalen Hurts not throwing too much, so I’d expect this to be the strongest test yet for Minnesota’s passing defense.

Hurts only threw the ball 23 times last week, and the Vikes still allowed receiver DeVonta Smith to tally 131 yards on four catches.

Allen should cut through this defensive secondary often.

Mike Williams – ALT Receiving Yards: 70+ Yards (+118 FanDuel)

When defenses get tired of being beat by Keenan Allen, they’ll begin to leave deep-threat option Mike Williams open.

Williams collected 83 yards on eight catches last week, but he always has the potential to cut the top off an opposing defense for a massive gain.

Will he get 70+ yards on one catch? Probably not, but he’d definitely be one of my top choices to do so.

Justin Jefferson – ALT Receiving Yards: 110+ Yards (+118 FanDuel)

Jefferson is currently the best receiver in the NFL and he has proved it in 2023, collecting 150 or more receiving yards in each of his first two games.

Jefferson can make it an 150+ receiving yard three-peat in Week 3.

Remember what happened to the Chargers in Week 1? They allowed Tyreek Hill to catch 11 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns.

Jefferson may not duplicate Hill’s Week 1 harvest, but I believe he will put on another explosive act in Week 3.

Jordan Addison – ALT Receiving Yards: 60+ Yards (+136 FanDuel)

The football-flinging fest continues!

Another beneficiary of this slugfest will be rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison.

Similarly to the combo of Allen and Williams in Los Angeles, when Jefferson is being double-teamed by the Chargers’ secondary, it’s Addison that’s popping off the top of opposing defenses.

Addison has already shown a solid deep-ball connection with his QB, hooking up Cousins on a 39-yard pass in Week 1, and a 62-yarder in Week 2.

Cousins will be telling Addison to ‘go long’ in Week 3.

Betting NFL Same Game Parlays

Same game parlay is just like a regular NFL parlay bet, except all bet selections come from different wagers within one football game.

The benefit of an NFL same game parlay is achieved by combining multiple bets so you can go for bigger wins as the odds increase.

The more bet selections you add, the more difficult it is to win, but the odds also greatly increase so is the potential winning amount.
