The NBA is back from a brief hiatus, and the same can be said for many NBA bettors.

With 12 games on the slate for Thursday, there is a bevy of player props available across the sportsbooks.

Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers will look to extend their scorching hot stretch, winning 18 of 21 games since the calendar flipped to 2024.

Mitchell has recorded 25 or more points in 16 of those 21 games!

It’s been a different story for the Detroit Pistons, as they have won just five of their first 22 games in 2024, and they are 12-point underdogs to the Indiana Pacers tonight.

The Pistons will attempt to slow down All-Star Tyrese Haliburton and the Pacers’ offense.

Haliburton has collected 11 or more assists in four straight contests, and in his last meeting against Detroit, Haliburton picked up 16 dimes!

Now that the NBA regular season has come back, it’s time to find some worthwhile player props to boost the bankroll.

All player prop selections are paired with the best odds!

Tyrese Haliburton – PG, Indiana Pacers

My biggest wager of the night is on Tyrese Haliburton to record a triple-double at +1900 on BetMGM.

Haliburton is a Swiss Army knife for the Pacers’ offense, and the stat sheet tends to reflect it.

This is certainly a risky bet, especially considering that Haliburton has just one triple-double all season, but against the Detroit Pistons, I’ll take the shot.

Detroit has been one of the better teams in the NBA against the spread lately, going 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games.

While the Pistons are not good, as their 8-46 record shows, they have been maturing on the court and sticking around longer in games.

This should do wonders for Haliburton’s workload tonight.

Regardless of how long Haliburton is on the floor, he should be a slam dunk for double digit assists and double digit rebounds.

The best odds of Haliburton recording a double-double can be found at BetMGM for -275.

That’s a fine bet, but let’s be greedy.

The question becomes: Can Haliburton pick up 10 rebounds?

Probably not.

A couple point guards have picked up nine rebounds against the Pistons this season, but not one has collected 10.

Join me if you’d like in taking Haliburton to record a triple-double at +1900 on BetMGM, but I’ll recommend the wager of over 32.5 points+assists at FanDuel for -113.

Pick: Haliburton – OVER 32.5 points+assists

Best Odds: (-113) FanDuel

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – PG, Oklahoma City Thunder

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 31.1 points per game this season, which is currently second in the NBA behind only the Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic (34.2 ppg).

The Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Los Angeles Clippers tonight, and considering how poorly the Clippers have defended guards, Gilgeous-Alexander has a prime opportunity to record some big numbers.

In the last seven games, Los Angeles has allowed 32 points per game to opposing point guards, which is by far the most in that time, and PGs are connecting on 50.2% of their shots.

A high-volume shooter such as Gilgeous-Alexander should take advantage, with SGA being one of only four players in the NBA averaging over 20 field goal attempts per game.

Also, as an aggressive player that will continuously slash to the hoop, Gilgeous-Alexander could see a chunk of trips to the free throw line.

In these two squads previous meeting, Gilgeous-Alexander produced a subpar 6-of-16 (37.5%) shooting performance, but he was 7-of-8 from the charity stripe.

SGA holds a 54.6% shooting percentage this season, so I’d expect the Thunder’s offensive focal point to have a better showing this time around and carry this offense against the Clippers tonight.

As the man who headlined the return package for Oklahoma City sending Paul George to Los Angeles, Gilgeous-Alexander will remind the Clips of what they’re missing.

Pick: Gilgeous-Alexander – OVER 31.5 Points

Best Odds: (-105) DraftKings

Ben Simmons – PG, Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets are beginning to receive some more work from veteran point guard Ben Simmons, and while Simmons’ shot still appears to be a work in progress, he has been a solid facilitator on the floor.

Simmons is only averaging 25.7 minutes on the court in 12 games played, but he’s still recording 8.4 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game.

Tonight against the Toronto Raptors, Simmons could have a decent night on the stat sheet.

In the last seven games, the Raptors have allowed an average of 7.05 rebounds and 13.4 assists per game to point guards.

With Simmons being a decent sized guard, 6-foot-10 to be exact, he certainly has a natural advantage over most point guards he is pitted against, so double digit rebounds could be in the cards tonight for the Nets’ guard.

In the first six games Simmons played this season, he posted 10 or more rebounds five times, so he can clean up around the boards.

On February 13th, Simmons’ last appearance before the All-Star break, he picked up eight assists in only 24 minutes against the Boston Celtics.

Brooklyn is likely to score more points than they usually do against a rebuilding Toronto squad, and Simmons should collect at least five assists or more if he plays at least 20 minutes.

Simmons is a strong facilitator and his rebounds+assists combo is a solid prop to target.

Pick: Simmons – OVER 12.5 Rebs+Asts

Best Odds: (+100) bet365

Lauri Markkanen – SF, Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz host the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday night, and that bodes well for Utah’s small forward Lauri Markkanen.

Last time these two teams played, Markkanen was on the floor for 36 minutes and he compiled 33 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists. That’s 48 points+rebounds+assists.

Tonight, Caesars has set their line for Markkanen’s points+rebounds+assists at 33.5

This season, Charlotte has allowed an average of 23.2 points per game to small forwards, the third-most in the NBA.

Markkanen has averaged 23.4 points per game, which is seventh-most in the NBA among all primary forwards (all power and small forwards).

When it comes to scoring, Markkanen should be able to tally at least 20+ points against the Hornets.

Markkanen will need plenty of rebounds too. Bouncing back-and-forth from small forward and power forward should assist Markkanen in the rebounds department.

Over his last 20 games, Markkanen has collected double digit rebounds nine times, which is only 45% of those games.

With a decent scoring output, bettors may not need 10 or more rebounds from Markkanen to hit the over on his points+rebounds combo.

In those 20 games, Markkanen picked up 30 or more points and rebounds combined 13 times, which is 65% of those games.

I like the Finnish forwards chances of hitting the over on this stat combo tonight.

Pick: Markkanen – OVER 31.5 Pts+Rebs

Best Odds: (-113) Caesars
