Three Value NFL Futures That Could Make Bank

The 2023 NFL season is already past its halfway point and before you know it, Super Bowl LVIII will be on our doorstep.

The Big Game will take place at the state-of-the-art Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, this February, and fans are already speculating as to who may feature in the showpiece tie. It looks as though the reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs will be one of them.

Patrick Mahomes and Co. are showing no let-up when it comes to establishing NFL glory.

Despite slipping to a shocking one-point opening-day defeat to the Detroit Lions, the Arrowhead Stadium side has bounced back and is currently 7-2 as the season reaches its business end.

The Chiefs have been made the +500 favorites by the Super Bowl odds on Bovada Sportsbook again this term, and if they are successful in their mission, they will become the first team since the Bill Belichick-Tom Brady combination led the New England Patriots to back-to-back crowns in 2004 and 2005.

While they are the consensus favorites for glory, there are plenty of other betting opportunities out there for punters.

With more and more teams dropping out of contention each and every week, there is plenty of value to be found in the market at present.

Here are three value NFL futures that we feel could make bank before the season is out.

Philadelphia Eagles to Win the NFC

The Eagles are the form team in the NFL this term.

They currently have the best record in the league and are 8-1, picking up several impressive victories recently, reeling off back-to-back wins against the Dallas Cowboys and the Miami Dolphins.

But despite that, they are still not the outright favorite to retain the Conference Championship that they won last season, punching their ticket to the Super Bowl in the process.

They instead have to settle for being named joint favorites alongside the San Francisco 49ers. However, that is somewhat surprising in itself.

The Eagles decimated their Californian counterparts in the NFC Championship game last term and the Levi’s Stadium side already has more defeats than the Eagles.

They have lost three consecutive games in recent weeks to the likes of the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, and the Cincinnati Bengals.

They did bounce back with a resounding victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars but they still shouldn’t be level at +230 with the Eagles in the odds list.

Buffalo Bills to Top the AFC East

The Buffalo Bills have faltered this season, there can be no denying it.

Over the course of the last two years, Josh Allen and Co. have transformed into one of the AFC’s true powerhouses.

However, this season, they have taken a giant leap backward.

They are currently 5-5 and have dropped a number of surprising defeats to unheralded teams such as the New York Jets, New England Patriots, and Denver Broncos. Quarterback Allen is also having a rough time of it this term.

Personally, he has been on fire, throwing for 2,600 yards – fourth overall in the NFL – and 19 touchdowns, the highest in the league.

Add to that almost 250 yards on the ground and a mighty seven rushing touchdowns. and it’s clear to see that he is doing all he can to transform the fortunes at Highmark Stadium.

Unfortunately for him, his teammates aren’t currently backing him up and as such, the Miami Dolphins are a win clear at the summit of the AFC East with a game in hand.

That may sound rough for the Bills, but it’s hardly an insurmountable gap.

Even so, the bookies have earmarked the current division toppers as -375 favorites to win the division and the currently second-placed Buffalo as long as +300 to overthrow them.

There is plenty of value to be had there, especially considering the fact that the Bills have already comfortably defeated their AFC East rivals.

The Dolphins do have a somewhat more favorable run-in, especially considering that the Bills have both of last year’s Super Bowl finalists to play, namely the Eagles and the Chiefs.

But Allen managed to steer his side to victory over the Chiefs at Arrowhead last season, and they may very well repeat the feat this term.

If they do, then the division may not be decided till the final day of the season, when the Bills will face off against the Dolphins with the AFC East on the line.

Houston Texans to Win the AFC South

For years, the Houston Texans have been considered a laughing stock.

Last term, they finished with a dismal record of 3-13. To put that into perspective, only the Chicago Bears performed worse in the entire league.

However, in the recent NFL draft, the Texans seem to have found the face of the franchise in the form of talented young quarterback C.J. Stroud.

They brought him to the NRG stadium with the second overall pick and he has been an absolute revelation.

He is currently second in the league in terms of throwing yards with 2,626 and he recently posted an all-time best throwing performance for a rookie with a whopping 470 yards and five touchdowns in a 39-37 victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

As such, we can see the Texans topping the AFC South at odds of +240.

They are currently one win behind the Jaguars, who lost last time out. We can see them being overthrown in the not-too-distant future.
