NFC East A Gridiron Mess - image There is no nice way to say it: Through Week 6 of the NFL season, all four NFC East teams have struggled mightily. Fans of any of the four teams appear to have little reason to be optimistic moving forward.

NFC East = NFC Least!

  • PHI – QB Jalen Hurts, one of the league’s best QBs, is already declared out for the season with some serious blood clot concerns.
  • NYG – QB Jaxon Dart will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury
  • DAL – The Dallas Defense ranks third-to-last in the league, allowing 382.5 yards per game.
  • WSH – The Commanders’ Defense is allowing an average of 28.7 points per game. (4th worst in the NFL.)

How Has The NFC East Drama Impacted Betting Odds?

At the beginning of the season, the Philadelphia Eagles were the betting favorite to repeat as division winners. However, six weeks in, those odds have shifted significantly. NFC East Division Odds Showdown - image Currently, the Dallas Cowboys (+120 at bet365) are the favorite to win the East. This is the same Cowboys team that has lost consecutive games and is currently 2-4.

Dallas Cowboys Stats:

  • Dallas is the only team in the division whose starting QB has been healthy all season. The Cowboys have scored 151 points, which is the most in the division.
  • Unfortunately, the Dallas Defense has not been good. They have allowed 159 points against, including 24 points to Jalon Daniels in a shocking home loss vs. Tampa Bay

NY Giants Stats:

  • The Giants were +600 to win the division before the season started. It’s hard to believe a team that lost its starting QB in Week 2 has seen its odds improve this much (+210).
  • At 3-2-1, New York is the only team in the division with a winning record.
  • Giants are +10.5 underdogs this week, on the road against Houston

Washington Commanders Stats:

  • QB Jayden Daniels has battled injuries this year and has played in four games. When he does play, Daniels has a QBR of 65.3, just above league average for starting QBs.
  • Washington has allowed 172 points through six weeks, the third-worst total in the league.
  • The Commanders have a -40 point differential.

Philadelphia Eagles Stats:

  • Philadelphia has recently made headlines for how it handled QB Jalen Hurts and his blood clots. We now know Hurts has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
  • Last week, Tanner McKee started in place of Hurts. The Eagles put up 14 points in a home loss to Carolina. McKee had a QBR of just 34.4.
  • Philly hosts Dallas in the Week 7 Monday Night Game. The Eagles are +4.5 home underdogs.
