Circa Survivor Field Cut by Nearly Two-Thirds After Two Chaotic NFL Weeks

The 2026 Circa Survivor NFL betting contest has already turned into a battle of attrition. After beginning with a record 25,017 entries competing for a winner-take-all $25.017 million prize, only 8,610 entries remain alive heading into NFL Week 3. That means 16,407 entries, or 65.6% of the original field, have been eliminated in only two weeks. The contest requires entrants to select one NFL team to win outright each week, with teams unavailable for reuse later in the season. Players must navigate the 18 regular-season weeks along with separate Thanksgiving and Christmas contest weeks.

Chargers Start the Week 1 Carnage

The trouble began immediately. The Los Angeles Chargers were selected by 7,585 entries, or 30.3% of the field, in Week 1 before losing to Arizona. Jacksonville was actually the week’s most popular selection with 8,121 entries and survived, while Pittsburgh drew another 4,013 selections.

Week 2 Eliminations

Week 2 proved even more destructive. Circa reported 8,368 eliminations, leaving 8,610 survivors. Tampa Bay caused much of the damage after more than 6,000 contestants selected the Buccaneers against Cleveland. Tampa Bay entered as an 8.5-point favorite but lost 23-19. The Buccaneers weren’t the only problem. Baltimore was another significant favorite that lost outright, falling 24-17 to New Orleans. San Francisco, meanwhile, rewarded the week’s largest group of backers by defeating Miami 35-13. The 49ers drew 6,741 Circa selections, while Tampa Bay was selected by 6,061 entries.

Only 34% of the Original Field Remains

The early elimination rate illustrates how difficult Survivor can be even when entrants consistently target heavy favorites. The most popular nationwide survivor selection has lost in each of the first two weeks, first with the Chargers and then Tampa Bay.

$25 Million Prize Still Up for Grabs

Circa Survivor’s remaining 8,610 entries represent only about 34.4% of the starting field. The survivors now have to balance immediate win probability against another consideration: preserving elite teams for later weeks. That decision becomes particularly relevant in Week 3 because one team is separated significantly from the rest of the board.

Circa Survivor Week 3 Betting Outlook

Chiefs Emerge as the Clear Favorite

Kansas City is the most obvious Week 3 survivor candidate. BetMGM lists the Chiefs as an 11-point road favorite at Miami, making Kansas City the largest favorite on the Week 3 board. BetMGM’s survivor analysis identifies the Chiefs as its leading Week 3 selection. Several other teams offer alternatives for entrants who have already used Kansas City or want to preserve the Chiefs for later. DraftKings’ current market has Buffalo laying seven points against the Chargers and Seattle favored by seven at Washington. Green Bay is a 5.5-point favorite over Atlanta. According to sportsbooks, among the biggest point spreads and potential survivor selections:

• Kansas City Chiefs at Miami Dolphins: BetMGM Chiefs -11. The largest favorite of Week 3 and the clearest conventional survivor selection.
• San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals: The 49ers are approximately -8.5 in the current market, but many Circa entrants used San Francisco in Week 2.
• Buffalo Bills vs. Los Angeles Chargers: DraftKings lists Buffalo -7 with a -345 moneyline. Buffalo could become one of the week’s more popular alternatives to Kansas City.
• Seattle Seahawks at Washington Commanders: DraftKings has Seattle -7 and -298 on the moneyline after the Seahawks’ 2-0 start.
• Green Bay Packers vs. Atlanta Falcons: DraftKings lists Green Bay -5.5 and -265 on the moneyline for Thursday night.

After consecutive weeks in which heavily backed favorites were eliminated, Week 3 offers another test of whether Circa contestants simply take the largest favorite or attempt to preserve Kansas City for a more difficult future slate. With more than $25 million still awaiting the eventual winner or winners, another major upset could dramatically reduce the field again.
