The NFL free agency period has already seen several notable signings, roster shake-ups, and a blockbuster trade that collapsed.

With teams racing to upgrade their rosters ahead of the upcoming season, franchises across the league have spent heavily on impact players while addressing key needs.

Fans who enjoy NFL betting will want to watch some of the signings as they weigh teams trength and NFL futures betting for the upcoming season.

Dealmaking Continues

Among the biggest moves so far are deals involving wide receivers, pass rushers, and offensive linemen as teams seek to strengthen both sides of the ball.

The early wave of signings has included contracts for players like wide receiver Alec Pierce, who is staying with the Indianapolis Colts. he secured a four-year, $114 million deal, while edge rusher Jaelan Phillips left the Philadelphia Eagles for the Carolina Panthers, reportedly landing a four-year, $120 million contract.

Several other notable free-agent deals have also been reported in the opening days of the market. Running back Travis Etienne agreed to a four-year contract with the New Orleans Saints worth $52 million, while cornerback Jaylen Watson secured a three-year deal valued at $51 million with the Los Angeles Rams.

Offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker also signed a three-year, $42 million contract with the New England Patriots as teams looked to shore up protection for their quarterbacks.

Elsewhere around the league, teams have made smaller but still meaningful additions. Guards, defensive linemen, and role players have quickly come off the market as teams fill depth charts before the 2026 NFL Draft.

For example, Isaac Seumalo signed a three-year deal worth $31.5 million, while running back Tyler Allgeier agreed to a two-year contract valued at over $12 million. Both signed with the Arizona Cardinals.

Maxx Crosby Deal Collapses After Ravens Back Out

The biggest headline of the early offseason involves a dramatic trade reversal surrounding Las Vegas Raiders star pass rusher Maxx Crosby.

The Baltimore Ravens had reportedly agreed to send two first-round draft picks — including the No. 14 overall selection in the 2026 draft — to the Raiders in exchange for the five-time Pro Bowl defensive end.

However, the deal collapsed after Baltimore backed out following Crosby’s physical, reportedly due to concerns surrounding his recovery from knee surgery related to a torn meniscus.

The sudden reversal stunned many around the league, as Crosby had been expected to become a focal point of Baltimore’s defensive front. Instead, the Ravens signed veteran pass rusher Trey Hendrickson to a four-year contract worth $112 million.

For the Raiders, the collapse of the trade leaves uncertainty surrounding Crosby’s long-term future with the team. Las Vegas is currently in the middle of a rebuild and holds the No. 1 pick in the draft, making Crosby an intriguing trade possibility.
