Fact Checker
The Philadelphia Eagles enter the 2026 season looking for a deeper playoff run after winning the NFC East for the second straight year. Philadelphia finished 11-6 in 2025 but saw its attempt to repeat as Super Bowl champion end with a Wild Card loss to San Francisco. The Eagles have now won at least 11 games in four consecutive seasons.
Jalen Hurts returns as the starting quarterback, while Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith, Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson give Philadelphia an experienced offensive core. The Eagles also continue to feature one of the league’s deepest defenses, led by Jalen Carter, Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean and Zack Baun.
What to Watch
The offense will look considerably different. Sean Mannion replaces Kevin Patullo as offensive coordinator after Philadelphia ranked only 19th in scoring last season. The biggest personnel change came in June when the Eagles traded A.J. Brown to New England. Philadelphia responded by reshaping the receiving corps around Smith. The Eagles acquired Dontayvion Wicks from Green Bay, added Marquise Brown and Elijah Moore, and used their first-round pick on receiver Makai Lemon. Second-round tight end Eli Stowers provides another young target. There were significant defensive changes as well. Philadelphia acquired edge rusher Jonathan Greenard from Minnesota and signed cornerback Riq Woolen, who joins Mitchell and DeJean in a potentially formidable secondary. The Eagles also added A.J. Epenesa and Jonathan Jones.Betting Outlook
Sportsbooks like FanDuel and Hard Rock Bet still see Philadelphia as one of the NFC’s primary contenders. DraftKings listed the Eagles at +122 to win the NFC East as of Sept. 1. Philadelphia was +850 to win the NFC and +1700 to win the Super Bowl. The win total is 10.5, with Over 10.5 at +115 and Under 10.5 at -140. Philadelphia is also -186 to reach the playoffs. The Eagles have made the postseason in all five seasons with Nick Sirianni as head coach and Hurts as the starting quarterback.Key Team Details
