The Green Bay Packers enter the 2026 NFL season looking to turn a talented roster into a deeper postseason run. Green Bay finished 9-7-1 in 2025 before falling 31-27 to the Chicago Bears in the NFC Wild Card round.
Jordan Love remains at the center of those expectations, but the Packers enter September with some important changes around him. The receiving corps still features Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and 2025 first-round pick Matthew Golden, while the defense remains headlined by Xavier McKinney and Micah Parsons.
What to Watch
Health will be one of Green Bay’s biggest early-season storylines. Parsons begins the year on the physically unable to perform list, meaning the star pass rusher will miss at least four games. Tight end Luke Musgrave is also on the PUP list, while receiver Savion Williams and edge rusher Collin Oliver are designated to return from injured reserve. The Packers also made several late roster moves. Veteran tight end Jonnu Smith was added to reinforce the position, and Green Bay brought in veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor to back up Love after Malik Willis departed. Green Bay’s 2026 NFL Draft class focused heavily on defense. Defensive tackle Chris McClellan arrived in the third round, followed by Penn State edge rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton in the fourth and Alabama cornerback Domani Jackson in the sixth. The schedule presents an immediate test. Green Bay opens with consecutive road games against Minnesota and the New York Jets, and three of its first four contests are away from Lambeau Field. The finish is considerably more favorable geographically, with four of the final five games at home.Betting Outlook
The Packers remain firmly in the NFC contender conversation, although their futures prices have lengthened during the offseason. DraftKings and BetMGM list Green Bay at around +240 to win the NFC North, +1050 to win the NFC and +2000 to capture the Super Bowl. Green Bay’s regular-season win total is 9.5, with the Over priced at -130 and the Under at +110. The Packers are also -146 to reach the playoffs. Those numbers suggest another winning season is expected, but Detroit and the rest of a competitive NFC North leave little margin for error.Key Team Details
