NBA All-Star Game Rosters Released, Event Features New Format

While many bettors are focused on this weekend’s Super Bowl, the NBA also recently released rosters for the Annual All-Star Game, which is set for Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. ET at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, the new home of the Los Angeles Clippers.
This marks the 75th edition of the midseason classic, with festivities running Feb, 13-15. The game will be televised on NBC, marking the network’s first broadcast of the game since the early 2000s, with the action will also be streamed live on Peacock.
Change in Format
This year’s All-Star Game introduces a new format with a round-robin “USA vs. World” format replacing the traditional East vs. West matchup. Instead of two teams, there will be three teams — two composed of American players and one featuring international players — each with at least eight All-Stars.
The three teams will play a series of 12-minute games in a round-robin format. The top two teams based on record then advance to a championship. If all teams are tied, the point differential will act as the tiebreaker.
The revamped structure is designed to fuel competition while celebrating the league’s increasingly international talent. Fans can look for a fast-paced, high-scoring action set in a mini-tournament setting.
A Look at the Rosters
The rosters for the game bring together many of the league’s brightest names. The starters, voted in by fans, media, and players, include a mix of perennial superstars and rising talent.
Among the international stars are Luka Dončić (Los Angeles Lakers), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder), Nikola Jokić (Denver Nuggets), and Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs).
On the American side, the starting roster features stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics), Cade Cunningham (Detroit Pistons), Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks), and Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers).
In addition to starters, the league announced 14 reserves selected by NBA coaches, including veterans and first-time All-Stars alike. Notable reserves include Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Anthony Edwards, Chet Holmgren, and Jamal Murray.
LeBron James was also named as a reserve and notched his 22nd consecutive All-Star selection. First-time All-Stars include Deni Avdija, Jalen Duren, Jalen Johnson, and Norman. When it comes to NBA betting, here’s a look at FanDuel odds on the winning squad:
