The NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Final both took important turns over the past several days as the San Antonio Spurs and Vegas Golden Knights secured key victories to make for even more competitive series.

On Monday night, San Antonio defeated the New York Knicks 115-111 in Game 3, cutting New York’s series lead to 2-1. The victory prevented the Spurs from falling into a daunting 3-0 deficit and shifted momentum heading into another home game.

In the NHL, the Golden Knights earned a dramatic victory Saturday in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Carolina Hurricanes. Vegas now holds a 2-1 series advantage after splitting the opening two games in Raleigh before returning home.

NBA Finals: Spurs Stay Alive

The Knicks appeared poised to take full control of the series after winning the first two games in San Antonio. New York claimed Game 1 by a 105-95 score and followed with a one-point victory in Game 2 before the Spurs responded Monday night.

San Antonio’s victory gives the series renewed intrigue as the teams prepare for Game 4. The Knicks remain in the driver’s seat, but another Spurs win would turn the Finals into a best-of-three series.

Stanley Cup Final: Golden Knights Grab Series Lead

The Stanley Cup Final has been equally competitive. Vegas stole home-ice advantage with a 5-4 win in Game 1 before Carolina answered with an overtime victory in Game 2. The series shifted west tied at 1-1, and the Golden Knights capitalized by winning Game 3 on Saturday night to take a 2-1 lead.

Saturday night’s game brought plenty of fireworks, with the Knights scoring 4 goals in the seonc period to take a 4-0 lead, including a hat trick in a single period by Mitch Marner. However, the Hurricans responded with four goals of their own in the third to send the game to overtime.

That wasn’t enough and the game went to a second overtime period before Tomas Hertl hit the game winner for Vegas. Along with Marner and Hertl, the Knights have received strong play from Jack Eichel and William Karlsson throughout the postseason. Carolina continues to lean on Sebastian Aho, Seth Jarvis, Taylor Hall, and Frederik Andersen as it attempts to tie up the series on Tuesday.

Betting Outlook

Both championship series remain highly competitive, creating numerous opportunities for bettors. In the NBA Finals, bettors will closely watch whether San Antonio can carry the momentum from Game 3 into Game 4, while New York seeks to regain control before returning home.

In the Stanley Cup Final, Vegas has seized the edge after Saturday’s win and now has an opportunity to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. Futures  betting markets at sportsbooks like BetMGM and DraftKings currently favor the Golden Knights, while individual game betting continues to focus heavily on star players such as Marner, Eichel, Aho, Brunson, and Wembanyama.

With both leagues nearing the conclusion of their seasons, the next several days could determine which teams ultimately lift the Larry O’Brien Trophy and Stanley Cup.
