Fact Checker
Kalshi is a prediction market app where you trade contracts tied to real-world events. The platform has certain fees for deposits, trading, and withdrawals, and we’ll explain why they are necessary in prediction trading here.
Based on our research, Kalshi fees primarily apply to deposits, while withdrawals often have no charges. Meanwhile, prediction trading fees range from $0.01 to $0.02 for a single event contract and it reduces further if you buy 100+ event contracts. While they are minimal fees, it’s still important for traders to know that they exist.
From the table, purchasing a $0.50 event contract will cost you $0.52 in total. Meanwhile, a $0.05 contract will be $0.06.
If you buy 100 $0.50 contracts, you’d expect to pay $50 for the trade and $2 in fees, but that’s not the case. Based on our tests, the fee will be $1.75 because Kalshi offers discounts for 100+ contracts. Check out the table below for full details:
Kalshi deposit fees
On Kalshi, you may pay a 2% deposit fee when you fund your account with debit cards, including Visa and Mastercard. Suppose you want to deposit $50 with a debit card. In that case, the platform can charge you $1, making the total payment $51. We didn’t see deposit fees for ACH transfers in our Kalshi review. Meanwhile, other payment methods, like PayPal and Venmo, may have fees after the first deposit. From what we saw, the exact rate varies, but it’s up to 2%. If you use cryptocurrency, you’ll pay the usual network/gas fees for processing. The fees differ depending on the coin you select, the blockchain, and real-time congestion.Kalshi trading fees

Kalshi maker fees
On Kalshi, maker fees are charges that apply when you add liquidity to the orderbook without an immediate match. As the order sits on the book waiting for a trader, it may incur maker fees, which are deducted when it finally executes. The rate can be as low as 0.25% per contract from our observations. However, if you cancel the order, there’s no charge.Kalshi withdrawal fees
Kalshi doesn’t charge fees for withdrawals using debit cards, e-wallets, or ACH. However, note that your payment method provider may have its own fees, independent of Kalshi. Also, similar to deposits, crypto blockchain network fees apply.Pros and cons of Kalshi fees
Let’s look at the upsides and downsides of fees on Kalshi: Pros- No platform fees for withdrawals
- Low $0.01 to $0.02 trading fee
- Discounted fees for 100+ event contracts
- 2% deposit fee may apply
Conclusion – Trade with minimal fees on Kalshi
As a regulated US prediction market app, Kalshi is transparent with its fee structure. You only have to deal with a 2% deposit fee with debit cards and digital wallets. An option like ACH has no charge, and for crypto, you pay the standard blockchain fees. Trading fees on Kalshi are more varied since they are charged per event contract, but the cost ranges from $0.01 to $0.02. As we explained, purchasing more than 100 contracts at once reduces the charges. The margin is small, but it adds up over time if you’re a regular trader.
