Thomas SnodgrassSenior Writer

For the eleventh Thanksgiving Day meeting, it would appear that Dallas will win once again, being set as 10.5-point favorites.

The double-digit spread makes sense considering that the Cowboys have won three of their last four games, losing to the Philadelphia Eagles, 28-23 in Week 9, but with all three wins by 23 0r more points.

Also, Washington just lost to the New York Giants last week, 31-19, and allowed Giants’ rookie QB Tommy DeVito to throw for three touchdown passes.

That’s not great.

For this Thanksgiving Day NFC East matchup, I’ll place a Same Game Parlay on FanDuel.

Dak Prescott – ALT Passing Yards: 300+ AND OVER 1.5 TD Passes

The Washington Commanders currently have the NFL’s 30th-ranked passing defense, allowing 272.6 passing yards per game.

And, as I mentioned before, Tommy DeVito just shredded the Commanders’ defense, so Dak Prescott should do just fine.

Prescott is averaging 260.4 passing yards per game, but against a defense this awful, he could easily sail past that number.

After getting benched late in the victory over the Panthers last week, Prescott only finished with 189 yards and two touchdowns, but he has been playing great in the last five weeks.

In the last five games Prescott is averaging 308.6 passing yards and has thrown for 14 touchdowns.

As long as Prescott continues to play at an elite level, I’ll back him to have a big game against Washington’s porous defense.

Pick: Prescott – ALT Passing Yards: 300+ (+168)

Pick: Prescott – OVER 1.5 TD Passes (-205)

CeeDee Lamb – OVER 7.5 Receptions AND ALT Receiving Yards: 100+

Lamb is on pace to have a career year.

Lamb has 74 receptions in 10 games, which is 7.4 catches per game, and Lamb is averaging 101.3 receiving yards per game.

Lamb’s previous career-high in yards per game was 79.9 in 2022.

BestOdds EDGE projects Lamb to reel in about 93 yards this week.

I actually see Lamb hitting the century mark again on Thanksgiving Day.

The Commanders’ defense has allowed the most receiving yards in the league to opposing wide receivers.

Here’s a quick look at how No. 1 receivers have fared against Washington’s defense in the last four games.

WAS OpponentNo. 1 ReceiverWR Results
PhiladelphiaA.J. Brown8 Rec, 130 Yds, 2 TD
New EnglandJuJu Smith-Schuster6 Rec, 51 Yds
SeattleDK Metcalf7 Rec, 98 Yds
New York (N)Darius Slayton4 Rec, 82 Yds, TD

After turkey, it’s time for Lamb.

Pick: Lamb – OVER 7.5 Receptions (+112)

Pick: Lamb – OVER 91.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

Brandin Cooks – OVER 3.5 Receptions AND OVER 36.5 Receiving Yards

While Prescott has been on his heater over the last few weeks, Brandin Cooks has been a beneficiary.

In his last five games, Cooks is averaging 61.4 receiving yards per game, which is much better than his season average of 42.2 yards per game.

After the Commanders begin to double coverage Lamb, it will be Cooks left wide open.

And like I said previously, Washington is absolutely awful against opposing receivers.

Four receptions at +144 seems like a solid value for a receiver that has become Prescott’s second favorite target among wide receivers in the last few weeks, gaining favor over Michael Gallup.

Cooks has 21 targets over the last four games, compared to Gallup’s 13.

Pick: Cooks – OVER 3.5 Receptions (+144)

Pick: Cooks – OVER 36.5 receiving Yards (-114)

Sam Howell – UNDER 251.5 Passing Yards

Sam Howell continues to get blasted behind the line of scrimmage, leading the NFL in times sacked.

There’s something about Micah Parsons lining up on the other side of the line of scrimmage that has me thinking that Thursday could be an impending nightmare for Howell.

Howell has been sacked 51 times this season, with Zach Wilson of the New York Jets as the second-most sacked QB, being sacked 38 times.

Not helping Howell hit the over on passing yards this week is the fact that Dallas’ defense is allowing only 177.6 passing yards per game, 2nd-least in the NFL.

Howell is averaging a quietly impressive 276.2 passing yards per game, but that number is largely inflated from large yardage totals against bottom-tier passing defenses.

The Cowboys’ defense will bring down Howell’s passing yards average, and they’ll bring Howell down to the turf.

Pick: Howell – Under 251.5 Passing Yards (-114)

Betting NFL Same Game Parlays

Same game parlay is just like a regular NFL parlay bet, except all bet selections come from different wagers within one football game.

The benefit of an NFL same game parlay is achieved by combining multiple bets so you can go for bigger wins as the odds increase.

The more bet selections you add, the more difficult it is to win, but the odds also greatly increase so is the potential winning amount.
