Parlay betting has grown to be a fan-favorite wagering alternative, and that’s why many online sportsbooks have introduced new and unique parlay betting options.

One such sportsbook is FanDuel.

FanDuel boasts one of the best same-game parlay platforms.

Aside from that, bettors can also create parlays from all types of betting markets, be it moneyline bets, prop bets, futures bets, and anything else that you fancy throwing into your parlay.

In this comprehensive guide, we are going to focus on parlay betting on FanDuel.

So read on if you want to know about all the unique parlays that you can build on the site.

How To Bet Same Game Parlay On FanDuel App

Both the FanDuel app and site are extremely easy to navigate. If you want to place a parlay bet on FanDuel.

You’ll be pleased to hear that it’s as simple as placing any other wager on the site.

  • Sign up and open the FanDuel app.

Parlay Builder

To help bettors create same-game parlays, sportsbooks like FanDuel use a special tool that is known as a parlay builder.

This tool allows you to build custom parlays and edit your selections with ease. Plus, you’ll be able to see what you can and can’t combine from the same game.

Parlay builders also organize all the bets into simple categories, which allows for convenient navigation. Instead of scrolling through a myriad of selections, you can simply jump from one category to the next.

You can easily create same-game parlays on FanDuel by going to the game that you want to bet on and then clicking on the tab titled “Same Game Parlay”.

The same-game parlay builder will then show you all your available selections.

What Is A Parlay Bet?

A parlay is the opposite of a single wager. In single wagers, your bet consists of a single selection, whereas parlays contain multiple selections in a single bet.

For example, if you were to only back the Knicks at -150 odds, that would be a single wager.

However, if you combined that selection with the Lakers at +200 odds, you would create a parlay with odds of +400.

For your parlay to win, both the Knicks and the Lakers would have to win their respective games. If one of them fails to do so, then you would lose your entire parlay.

One great thing about parlays is that you can include as many selections as possible. Plus, every selection that you add boosts the odds of the wager.

However, this also increases your risk.

Remember, you can still lose a 10-team parlay because of a single leg, so always keep that in mind when you’re building your parlays.

We have prepared a detailed guide for you if you are not sure how to bet NFL on FanDuel.

FanDuel Same Game Parlay

Can you do the same game parlay on FanDuel? Yes, you can.

As the name suggests, a same-game parlay (also known as SGP) is a parlay that features selections from one game.

FanDuel has made it possible to build same-game parlays on the site. In fact, when compared to other sportsbooks in the industry, their platform is one of the best for building same-game parlays.

On FanDuel, you can see the individual odds for each bet selection—a feature that isn’t available on many other sportsbooks that offer same-game parlays.

They also seem to rival the competition when it comes to the number of same-game combinations that you can make.

If you’re curious about what an NBA same-game parlay looks like, here’s an example:

  • Golden State Warriors -15.5 spread (-105)
  • Stephen Curry, Over 30.5 Points (-110)

Parlay odds: +273

As you can see, both bets are from the same game and are correlated. A bettor who risks $100 will win $273 only if the Warriors cover the spread and Stephen Curry scores 31+ points.

Same Game Parlay Rules

#1 Rule: If any leg of an SGP bet relates to an existing market on-site, rules for that market will apply.

For example, if an SGP bet includes a player to score an anytime touchdown & the selected player scores only scores via passing touchdowns, this bet will be graded a loser because the Anytime Touchdown Scorer rules do not include touchdowns scored as a passer.

#2 Rule: If any leg of the same game parlay bet is made void or settles as a push, then the whole bet would become a void or a push. The exception to this is if the outcome of the bet requested can still happen.

#3 Rule: A SGP bet may contain up to 10 legs. Same-Game Parlays do not support wagers with more than 10 legs.

#4 Rule: This parlay bet must be placed from a single game. Same-Game Parlay wagers cannot be combined across multiple games.

#5 Rule: If part of the bet requested consists of one of two named players to score at any time during a game, bets placed on that market will stand if one or both of those players play any part in that game.

If FanDuel’s same game parlay isn’t working and you are not able to create a betting ticket we recommend getting in touch with the customer service via live chat.

Player Parlay

If you’re into player props, you can create a parlay that specifically focuses on player stats. The players that you select just need to achieve certain stats.

So, whoever wins or loses the game won’t be the focus of this kind of parlay.

On FanDuel, you can mix things up by creating a same-game player prop parlay, or you can even parlay players from different leagues and sports.

Here’s one such example of a multi-sport player parlay:

  • Alexander Mattison Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+105)
  • LeBron James, Over 29.5 Points (-110)
  • Cristiano Ronaldo, Over 2.5 Goals (+110)

Parlay odds: +722

All the players in your parlay need to achieve the above stats to win the bet. If that happens, a bettor who risks $10 will win $72.2.

Moneyline Parlay

The main focus of a moneyline parlay is to group teams that are expected to win outright. This can be great since a moneyline bet typically has very low odds, especially when backing a favorite.

The best way to build a moneyline parlay is by choosing favorites from various sports. Here is one such example:

  • Real Madrid -120
  • New York Knicks -130
  • Tampa Bay Lightning -200

Parlay odds: +387

If you risk $100 on the above bet and all the teams win, then you’ll make a profit of $387.

Point Spread Parlay

In a point spread parlay, you’re grouping together teams that are expected to cover the spread. This can be a bit harder than a moneyline parlay since all the teams that you select need to either win by a specific margin or avoid losing by a specific margin.

However, the odds of a point spread parlay will typically be better than that of a moneyline parlay, especially if you’re backing the favorites.

Here’s an example of a 2-team NFL point spread parlay:

  • Buffalo Bills -5.5 (-110)
  • Seattle Seahawks +3.5 (-110)

Parlay odds: +264

To win this parlay, the Bills need to win by 6+ points and the Seahawks need to avoid anything worse than a three-point defeat.

Over/Under Parlay

Lastly, you can choose to create a parlay that solely deals with game totals.

Just like a point spread parlay, the typical odds for each bet in an over/under parlay will be -110. In each bet, you’ll be betting whether the combined score of the game will be over/under the bookies’ chosen line.

Here’s an example of a 3-leg NBA over/under parlay:

  • Phoenix Suns @ Milwaukee Bucks – Over 220.5 (-110)
  • Toronto Raptors @ Miami Heat – Under 218.5 (-110)
  • Cleveland Cavaliers @ Los Angeles Lakers – Over 210.5 (-110)

Parlay Odds: +596

If the game totals for each bet turn out as predicted, then a bettor who wagers $200 will win $1,192.

Parlay Betting Strategy

Truth is, parlays are extremely hard to crack. Unlike single wagers, it’s hard to consistently win parlay after parlay.

However, you can use certain strategies to increase your success rate with parlays. Here are a few that we recommend.

Keep Your Parlays Small

Realistically, winning a 3-leg parlay is easier than correctly predicting 9 consecutive bets. So, whenever possible, always aim to keep your parlays small. The sweet spot may be around 2-4 selections, which is both realistic and reasonable.

Hedge Whenever Possible

If your multi-leg parlay goes to the final hurdle, then you can hedge your bet to ensure that you get something in return.

For example, let’s say that you stand to win $1,200 from your 4-leg parlay. The first three selections turn out to be winners, and your last bet is an over on a basketball game.

To hedge your bet in this scenario, you can risk $500 on the under. This will put you in a situation where you’re guaranteed a profit of around $500 regardless of the outcome of the final game.

Search For Correlated Bets

This specifically applies to same-game parlays. You can choose to combine certain correlated picks, especially in scenarios where you’re confident that both picks will happen.

One such example is combining spreads and totals.

For example, if you expect a low-scoring game where the underdog can easily cover the spread, then you can bet on the under while also backing the underdog.

If one of those bets turns out as predicted, chances are, the other prediction will also be correct.

Why don’t you include prop bets in your next same game parlay at FanDuel?
