FULL OF INSIGHTS

I have subscribed to different newsletters in the last 10 yrs but I must say I've never been more impressed.

Mike

On May 5th, 1862, Mexican General Ignacio Zaragoza and his 4,000 soldiers were outnumbered almost two to one by an attacking French army – led by Commander Charles de Lorencez.

What do you do when you are outnumbered two to one, with nowhere to go, and have 8,000 French soldiers attacking you?

The answer taught to us by Zaragoza and his troops that day is you fight until you have no more fight left in you.

Or, in this case, until the French retreat to safer ground and wait for even more of their reinforcements to show up.

What Zaragoza and his men accomplished 161 years ago is certainly worth celebrating with tequila or five today.

However, please remind yourself BEFORE you finish that 5th tequila, if you encounter a large group speaking with French accents, you don’t have to fight them… unless, of course, they took the last of the Taco Bell Chalupas that you have been patiently waiting for.

Then it’s obviously Go Time!

Where Art Thou, P.J. Tucker?

Speaking of being outnumbered, there are those who believe the Philadelphia 76ers are at a disadvantage in their series against the Boston Celtics because P.J. Tucker doesn’t want to shoot the ball.

In Game 1 of the series, Tucker played 37 minutes and failed to attempt a field goal.

In game 2, he shot the ball just three times.

Our BestOdds EDGE bet of the day involves Mr. Tucker and his total points prop line, which has been set at +3.5 points.

Our EDGE betting platform suggests an 11% advantage for anyone with the courage to take the UNDER.

In his six playoff games so far, Tucker is averaging less than four field goal attempts per game and is scoring at a rate of just under 3.0 points per game.

Over his last five games, Tucker has managed to top +3.5 points just one time. In fact, he was more likely to score zero (0) points than go over +3.5.

Cinco de Mayo is About Courage

Betting the UNDER on someone whose total is set at just +3.5 takes courage.

Even Ben Simmons averaged 6.9 points per game this year, and we all know how much Ben likes to shoot the ball.

The easy play is to assume that almost any NBA player averaging 30 minutes a game will get to at least four points.

But then again, it’s Cinco de Mayo.

A day when the courage to stay and fight instead of running away or waving the white flag is celebrated.

In honor of General Zaragoza and his brave men, we are going PJ Tucker UNDER +3.5 points tonight.

We might also sip a tequila or two before heading out for some Taco Bell Chalupas.

Anytime you are willing to consume large quantities of Taco Bell after a few drinks, it’s an act of bravery in my mind.

In case you missed it

This week, the new BestOdds EDGE betting platform has launched, and because you got all the way to the bottom of this newsletter, I have a special gift for you.

Happy Cinco de Mayo to you and yours, and best of luck with all your NBA props and parlays this weekend.
